Lauren’s last day

Today is Lauren’s last day in Barcelona. Her flight doesnt leave until late this afternoon, so we have all day to do the shopping she wants. We need souvenirs, to check out Zara and of course get in one last meal.

We took our time this morning packing and heading down to breakfast. After breakfast we did one last sweep of the room and brought our bags down to the lockers to store them while we shopped. We headed to the flagship Zara store and Lauren found a couple things that will be fun to figure out how to add to her luggage. We hit up H&M as well – but neither of us found anything there either. I checked out the Nike store while she hit up Zara home. We stopped in another Lego store too – this one was much larger and had even cooler Lego art. We didnt get anything this time though, everything was significantly more expensive in this store and we had already gotten our figures. It was a successful shopping outting.

We needed to get a few more things on Lauren’s list and my magnets and stickers for my collections. We successfully collected our items for souveniers and decided to grab one last lunch. And man did Lauren deliver. We got to eat in the OLDEST bookstore in Barcelona. It is technically still a bookstore, but its tiny and pretty much only has hiking and nature books to sell, besides the restaurant that they now run.

We heard a guide say that the original family still owns it, but when it was first active the family lived upstairs from the bookshop, so the kitchen they use for the restaurant was already there, they just modernized it.

After lunch it was back to the hotel to figure out how to pack the new things in Lauren’s luggage. On the way though, I dropped my phone and the screen broke. It went all black but slowly came back for a while, but not for long.

We nailed packing Lauren up. Got it all but one bag of salt (from Aldi), so I took it in case I can get it in my bag. After packing everything up (in order to get the suitcase to close, I had to lay on it, but it worked!) we called an Uber and rode to the airport together. There is a train to my hotel from the airport, so I went with her to see her off.

After saying goodbye to Lauren I headed back to the Hampton Inn that I originally stayed out. It is closer to the airport and I will heading to Nice on Monday, so I figured it would be a good location since the flight is so early.

I checked into the hotel and headed to my room. I unpacked what I would need for the next few days then sat down to figure out what to do about my broken phone. Thankfully I had my work phone on me so I was able to swtich the service over to that phone and use it. But it’s an iPhone and its old and I dont know how to us iPhones. The pictures wont be nearly as good now.

Tomorrow I go to Andorra on a bus tour. Im bringing my phone just in case Ill be able to figure out how to get them off the phone later.

For the rest of the night I just sat and read. It was a nice relaxing night, especially since I have to be up at 5am to make it to the tour on time.
