It was expected to rain today, so we slept in – but of course, it hadnt rained. Our breakfast at this Hilton hotel is really well done – there are so many choices. As usual, I get cereal and yogurt. Sometimes I get a croissant as well. They always have a different “cake” as well – it looks just like dessert cake, not breakfast cake, but hey – who complains about cake for breakfast? Ive also discovered my love for honey and fresh honeycomb. There is a slab of honeycomb every morning and Ive been putting the fresh honey on my yogurt and the croissant.
Because the weather said it was supposed to rain, we decided to stick close to the hotel and so we settled on the Communism museum since it is right across the street. Really, if you ever go to Prague, the Hilton Old Town Prague is a great location. Almost everything is within 15 minutes (except the castle, thats 30 minutes away). Back to the museum. It was very informative. I didnt realize how much the Czech were involved and impacted by Communism, a little over 50 years. There were artifacts, plenty of pictures and descriptions and some art.

After the museum we went back to the hotel, because it had not in fact rained. So I dropped off my rain coat and PB picked up his sunglasses. We headed to the Charles bridge. Since PB hadnt been back there yet, it was a nice relaxing walk across the bridge people watching – selfies, family photos, artists, street performers, etc.
We decided to go to the Thai massage place in the Old Town square to get a massage. I went with a neck and shoulder massage and PB got a foot massage. It was pretty heavenly – but the lady broke the chair while she was doing a stretch on me, it was very funny.

For lunch we decided to go back to the same place we had dinner on our first night. We got the same thing – the cheese plate and the four cheese pizza. It was just so good and we both loved it. While we were finishing up eating it started to rain, of course because why would it rain when it was supposed to. It was fun to watch everyone scramble to cover themselves with jackets and run for cover. The square just emptied out.

It started to sprinkle so we decided to walk back to the hotel and relax. On the way back I picked up my stickers and my magnet for my collection. PB went to the gym at the hotel and I worked on my blog and journal. The Olympics are live here so I turned on the BBC coverage to watch.
After our little break – off we went again. It wasnt supposed to rain again, but since the weather has been wrong all day I took my rain jacket with me anyway. We decided to go see Kafka’s head art piece. On the way I was able to show PB the main drag of shopping and the road that used to be a cemetary (we learned that in our Old Town Hall tour) and where the tanks have rolled through Prague.

As to be expected, since nothing is, it started pouring as we got to the art piece. I learned that the head only moves once an hour, not twice like it used to. And (I learned after we were there for like 25 minutes) that we had JUST missed it when we got there. The head only moves from :00 to :15. PB was very kind and let me hang out while we waited for it to happen again. He got some tea from Paul’s (a chain in Europe). Once we saw the piece do its thing we decided to head back to the main shopping district because there is a Lego museum there.
Sadly, the museum was closed today – so off to dinner we went. I had googled a restaurant, looking for one with good reviews. It started sprinkling again and there was no outdoor seating at this restaurant, but we were still able to get a table. PB got a salad and sausage (it was cold, and that was weird) and I got the cheese potato dish thingy that I loved in Slovakia. By the time we left there was a line out the door – clearly this was a good place, we agreed.

We decided to get some gelato on the way home, but sadly after attempting two different places, we came up empty handed so we settled for some of our candy in the room.
